Wednesday 18 April 18:00 until 19:30
Chowen Lecture Theatre, Brighton and Sussex Medical School, University of Sussex BN1 9PX
Speaker: Thomas Nowotny, Professor of Informatics, School of Engineering & Informatics
Part of the series: Professorial Lecture

Insects have evolved over millions of years to be comparably simple but extremely efficient agents. None of the existing autonomous robots come close. In this lecture, Professor Nowotny will present his research in insect olfaction and bio-inspired AI to illustrate how we can learn more from nature’s inventions. He will then outline how we are planning to use this knowledge to build the AI and robots of the future.
