The Purlers – Sociable Knitting for Charity
The Purlers meet every Monday morning over hot drinks and biscuits to knit squares (‘plain or patterned according to taste and skill’) which are made up into blankets which are sent to displaced families in Northern Iraq and Syria, via the Brighton-based charity, Samara’s Aid Appeal.
The group also uses simple patterns to knit baby jackets and other items for the Trevor Mann Baby Unit at the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
When: Monday mornings at 10.30am
Where: St Mary’s Church, St James Street, Kemptown BN2 1PR.
