Setting up the ecological land cooperative: Challenges and lessons for the future
with Zoe Wrangler, Director of the Ecological Land Cooperative
The next Mutual Aid in Sussex (MAIS) meeting will include a talk with Zoe Wangler, founding member and director of the Ecological Land Co-operative (ELC). The MAIS meeting will start at 6:30pm and will go on till 8pm and will include a tour of the co-ops at Coachwerks.
Afterwards Zoe will talk about Ecological land Co-operative.
ELC was set up in 2009 to address the lack of affordable sites for ecological land based livelihoods in England. The co-op purchases land, obtains planning permission, and installs the infrastructure to create clusters of three or more affordable residential smallholdings.
Zoe’s presentation will set out what the co-op does, its roots, and why the members chose to be a multi-stakeholder co-op. She’ll share some of their failures and successes, their plans for the future and the challenges they face.
Come and join us: Wednesday 22 June at Coachwerks, 19A Hollingdean Terrace, Brighton. Meeting 6.30-8.00pm. Talk from 8pm, followed by any questions.
If you can, please bring vegan food to share.
