Philosophy in Pubs (PIP) are a group of people who enjoy discussing their ideas and thoughts and learning from each other. No academic or formal background is necessary only a passion for enquiry.
Currently, we meet on the third Sunday of each month, 7pm at the Palmeira pub, Cromwell Road, Hove, Normally around 20 – 30 people attend. Groups consist of no more than 7/8 people and include a facilitator. The idea is for people to engage in dialogue without the constraints of a meeting agenda. A small donation of £1 is suggested to cover admin costs.
Respect for others and their opinions is a fundamental requirement of the group as it encourages people to put forward their ideas without fear of ridicule, intimidation or hidden agenda.
