Level 1 Award in Health Awareness
This is a new course offered free of charge for anyone working for public, community or voluntary sector organisations (paid or unpaid).
This one day course is an introductory-level health awareness course suitable for paid or voluntary workers with an interest in promoting health and wellbeing – e.g. in the community and voluntary sector; those preparing for careers in health and healthcare; volunteers; those working in care homes; the housing sector; and community pharmacy. This is a Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) award.
By the end of the course, participants will:
- Understand the meaning of “health”;
- Understand the basic principles of public health;
- Understand the lifestyle choices affecting personal health and wellbeing;
- Be aware of local services and initiatives available to promote health and well-being
