Plumpton College at Stanmer Park, Brighton is offering a FREE short taster course- ‘FLOURISH’: A hands-on, practical 5-week Introduction to Horticulture
Horticulture is one of the largest employment sectors in the UK. The course will introduce you to the industry, improve your employability skills, or improve your skills if an amateur. With 20 million gardens in UK ,we’re spending billions /year on them.
THE COURSE
After the 5 week course you will gain a City & Guilds 7573 Award in Practical Horticulture Skills. Examples of topics on the course include tree planting, seed sowing, vegetable growing, pruning, soil cultivation, soil analysis, plant identification, and propagation. You can attend either Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays (10.00-3.30), (other days may be available) at Stanmer Park, Brighton.
AM I ELIGIBLE?
FREE to anyone on means tested benefit or with a household income below £22 K. Travel bursaries available. (For others, fee paying possible).
WHAT NEXT?
Come to the interview/advice session 10.30 am Tuesday 15th July 2014, Stanmer Park, Brighton, BN1 9SE to discuss the course and assess the suitability of the course for you before joining week commencing 4th August.
Email to say you are coming. Bring proof of benefits or income. On 15th July, you can also enrol on Free or bursary assisted one year Part-time and Full-time courses that start in September.
