Bethan Roberts will be talking about her new book Mother Island and her experiences as a City Reads author. Bethan Roberts won a Jerwood/Arvon Young Writers’ Award for her first novel,The Pools. Her second novel, The Good Plain Cook, was a Book at Bedtime and was chosen as one ofTime Out’s books of the year. Her third,My Policeman, was the 2012 Brighton City Reads book. She also writes short stories, and has written three plays for BBC Radio 4. Her new novel, Mother Island, has just been published by Chatto & Windus. She lives in Brighton with her husband and young son.
