5-week course 7.30-9pm on Thursdays from 6 May to 3 June, 2021

People are more than machines that break down, and doctors are more than mechanics who fix parts. In this course, we will explore how literature (both prose and poetry) can illuminate everyday clinical practice, and help us become better doctors. The course will be run by a physician-writer.

You do not need to have had any prior experience of writing, but you must be open to doing some writing every week, and there will be set readings (some long) every week.

Neil Singh is a GP working in Brighton who also teaches at Brighton and Sussex Medical School. He is interested in reducing health inequalities and healthcare for vulnerable groups. In his free time, Neil is also a writer and musician.
