Alex Ntung’s Book Launch – NOT MY WORST DAY, A personal journey through violence in the Great Lakes region of Africa

Alex Ntung (former student, colleague and community partner) will be launching his book NOT MY WORST DAY, A personal journey through violence in the Great Lakes region of Africa.
Alex was born into a family of pastoralists in South Kivu. His hunger for education took him to a school in the city and then university in Rwanda. Here he was witness to the 1994 genocide and the subsequent violence and conflict in the region fuelled by Tutsi and Hutu ethnicity. His own need to escape and come to terms with these events led to his arrival in the UK and later involvement in peace and mediation work for civil society organisations and the UN. He is an experienced speaker with an honest insight into issues of war and human security, cultural insensitivity and conflict resolution.
Please join us to celebrate the launch of his book and hear him speak about his experiences.

This event is a FREE event supported by Development Resources International, Black History Month and CUPP. It is relevant to all those students, staff and community partners interested to hear first-hand about experiences of civil conflict and its impact on the lives of ordinary citizens. Please RSVP to cupp@brighton.ac.uk
