Free Family Bushcraft sessions for young and old alike based at Racehill Community Orchard.

These sessions are available for residents of Whitehawk, Manor Hill and Bristol Estate only.

Whittling Wisdom

Everything you need to know to make yourself an expert whittler! We will begin from scratch learning the basic about wood, the correct knife and tools, techniques, positions and safety steps to achieve mastery with wood, to turn any piece into a thing of beauty and purpose. All equipment provided if you have none of your own.   Chalk carving is available for the younger ones to develop strength, confidence, hand- eye co-ordination and fine motor skills. A back to basics day for all the family.

What to bring: Please bring your own packed lunch.  Please remember to dress appropriately for the season with warm clothes, waterproof items if necessary and sturdy shoes.

Young people up to the age of 12 and vulnerable adults need to be accompanied by a parent / guardian / carer.

Location: Racehill Community Orchard is in-between Wilson Ave and Swanborough Drive.  The 1, 1A or 21 bus has its last stop near the entrance on Swanborough Drive.

Due to limited spaces booking is essential.
