Fuel poverty kills! Over 7,000 people died last year because they could not afford to heat their homes. In one of the richest countries in the world, this is a scandal. Since then, prices for gas and electricity have gone up again, while wages stay the same and benefits are cut.

This event organised by Brighton and Hove People’s Assembly is an open discussion on fuel poverty and energy.

How can we change the story on the energy rip-off?

Why are private companies making huge profits from our essential services?

How is fuel poverty affecting people in Brighton & Hove?

Speakers from the campaign group Fuel Poverty Action and local energy innovators Brighton and Hove Energy Services Cooperative.
