ARE YOU LOOKING TO WORK IN THE HORTICULTURE SECTOR, OR A KEEN GARDENER?

Plumpton College at Stanmer Park, Brighton is offering a FREE short taster course – FLOURISH: An Introduction to Horticulture.

This is a practical, hands-on introduction to horticulture. Horticulture is one of the largest employment sectors in the UK. The course will introduce you to the industry, improve your employability skills, or improve your skills if an amateur. With 20 million gardens in UK ,we’re spending billions /year on them.

QUALIFICATION
After the 5-week course you will gain a City & Guilds 7573 Award in Practical Horticulture Skills.

THE COURSE
Examples of topics on the course include tree planting, seed sowing, vegetable growing, pruning, soil cultivation, soil analysis, plant  identification, and propagation.

DATES and LOCATION
You can attend either  Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays (10.00am-3.30pm), (other days may be available) at Stanmer Park, Brighton. You can join at different dates throughout the year.

AM I ELIGIBLE?

Free to anyone on a means tested benefit or with a household income below £22K. Travel bursaries available.  (For others, fee paying is possible).

Come to the interview/advice session 10am Wednesday 23rd April 2014, Stanmer Park, Brighton,BN1 9SE  to discuss the course and assess the suitability of the course for you before joining the following  week. If starting later, phone/email at least two days before you wish to start to check availability.
