This international seminar has been organised by University of Brighton Community University Partnership Programme (CUPP).

Free University Brighton (FUB) was established last year in response to the rise in tuition fees and cuts to adult education. Providing and promoting education “for love, not money”, it aims to create learning experiences that are democratic, student-led and accessible to all. Inspired by the ‘Occupy’ movement, FUB uses public spaces to encourage us to share our experiences and skills, to question the world around us and consider how it could be otherwise.  Founder of FUB, Ali Ghanimi, talks about the importance and challenges of providing free learning events and asks “can the free university movement be the great new hope for education?”

This seminar is free and open to all! Tea and coffee will be available. If you would like to attend, please RSVP to cupp@brighton.ac.uk or call Suze Crutwell on 01273 643004
