By radical we mean that this is a festival that grows from the grassroots, that it reflects the interests of ordinary people, especially those who are marginalised by the mainstream. The festival creates spaces in which people can engage each other and the politics in which they are enmeshed and on the grounds they choose. Thinking, space, connections, solidarity, realisation. We grow out of the radical traditions of ordinary people, whether the women’s movement, workers movements, LGBT rights, the environmental movement and all those struggling for a better world.
