Prehistoric Colours (Stall) All Day from 11:00am

Chat with fossil experts about the process of determining the colours of dinosaurs solely form fossils. Presented by University of Bristol & Queen Mary University of London and as featured as part of the Royal Society Science Exhibition 2013.

Spectacular Spectrometers (Stall & Drop In Activity) All Day from 11:00am

Spectrometers are one of the most important tools in astrophysics – learn how to build one with just a handful of household objects, and investigate a range of mystery gases and invisible radiation. This drop-in workshop was developed by the South East Physics Network, and will be run by physics and astrophysics students from the University of Sussex. All physics workshops in Brighton Science Festival are supported by the Institute of Physics.

Understanding The Higgs Boson (Stall) All Day from 11:00am

In July 2012, the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the Large Hadron Collider announced the discovery of a new particle. But what does this actually mean? Important insights into how the universe is made, that is. Which model is correct? Visit the Understanding The Higgs Boson Stall to have your questions answered. Presented by University of Sussex and University of Birmingham and as featured as part of the Royal Society Science Exhibition 2013.

Drugs & Living Systems (Stall & Drop In Activity) All Day from 11:00am

Pharmacology is the science of drugs and their effect on living things. Find out what pharmacologists do, from creating new medicines to testing their effects on living creatures. You’ll even have a chance to be a pharmacologist, and examine how changes to their watery environment alter the heart rate of Daphnia (water fleas). Presented by the British Pharmacological Society.
