AboutFace Theatre Company would like to offer you this free workshop investigating themes of ‘Motherhood: the (Un)speakable (Un)spoken’.
IMG_1376This workshop is part of research and development for a Contemporary Theatre piece investigating the journey into parenthood, focussing on motherhood. It will feed various voices into the piece as well as providing an opportunity for peer support and space to reflect on our personal judgements and assumptions around our journey into parenthood
We aim to investigate some of the following themes:
  • Longing
  • Pregancy
  • Birth
  • Post Natal Depression
  • Mothering as Learned Experience
  • Mothering in Practice
  • The love
We will do so working cross art form, using pure movement and dance, games, life drawing and painting, writing, object manipulation, modeling (with plasticine), vocal improvisation, pair work (such as mirroring, co-created art work, interviewing) and group sharing. Participants can also choose to be witnesses, to watch, observe, write, draw in response, and focus on being present and listening.
All levels of prior experience are welcome.
