3D and the history of the criminal justice system.
Part of the Digital Panopticon project, this workshop will explore the spatial and aural configuration of the courtroom. In doing so, it will help to illuminate the lived experience of trial. Hundreds of thousands of men and women were forced to stand in unfamiliar spaces, to listen to authority voiced in a strange and new language – to stand trial for their lives, in a new theatre of justice. This workshop will explore how engaging with the physical configuration of courtrooms helps us to better understand that experience and the relationships it encodes.
Speakers will include Linda Mulcahey (LSE), Valeria Vitale (King’s) and Tim Hitchcock (Sussex).
