Sade’s Make & Take Craft workshop
Art Room, ground floor, 12-4pm
Join the ever-popular craft table – run by Sade. A fun workshop for all ages. Drop in.

The Clothes on our Backs
Museum Lab, first floor, 1.30-2.30pm
Learn about the ancient history and purpose of Kangas (African cloth) and take part in a creative writing workshop exploring related themes.
Session led by Tony Kalume and Dr Jess Moriarty. For adults and older children.

Head Wrapping
20th Century Gallery, ground floor, 1.30-3.30pm
One of last year’s most popular activities! Have your head wrapped in the latest styles. Drop in, all ages.

West African Griot Stories
Elaine Evans Archaeology Gallery, ground floor, 2.30-3.15pm
Listen to the stories of West African heritage told by Jali Burama and Musa Mboob accompanied by the kora (African harp) and percussion. Drop in.

Thomas Highflyer
A Black History project
Museum Lab, first floor, 3-3.45pm
Learn about Thomas Highflyer, the young African boy rescued from a slave dhow and brought to live in Kemptown in 1868. Film and talk for adults and older children.

Banyan Tree Singing Workshop
Japanese Woodcuts exhibition galleries, first floor, 2-3pm
Local theatre group Banyan Tree will guide you through some classic songs from around the world at this vibrant singing workshop. Drop in, all ages.

Hidden Sussex
Japanese Woodcuts exhibition galleries, first floor, 3.15-4.15pm
Listen to readings from contributors to Hidden Sussex, a new anthology about the Sussex experience from a Black and ethnic minority perspective. For adults and older children.

Music by DJ Task and African Night Fever.
