The Secret Life of Teens: Online Identities, Image and Relationships
How is social media and the digital world changing young people’s relationships, image and identity? This practical, interactive workshop provides a forum for parents and carers to get up to date information and honest, open accounts of young people’s experiences and views, and explore the challenges and opportunities offered to young people by this fast evolving online landscape.

Over the summer, Tasha Mansley, workshop facilitator specialising in sex, relationships, gender, body image and mental health for young people, will be running a series of focus groups for 10-16 year olds to consider how social media and digital technology affects their self-esteem, well being and relationships.

The findings of these focus groups will form the basis of this event: Parents will have an opportunity to gain new insights, share their concerns, develop strategies in relation to their children’s relationship to digital technology, and gain confidence in talking to them about social media, cyberbullying, porn, sexting and more.

This event is for…

Primarily for parents of children/teenagers aged 10 – 16 years. (note: If you are a young person and would like to contribute to this event by taking part in a focus group, please email Tasha at tasharose94@gmail.com)
