The NHS and the Third Sector

What happens when an NHS service is contracted to a Third Sector provider? How can workers in the Third Sector defend their pay, conditions and services? What should be the role of the Third Sector in health and social care?

This is an open discussion organised by Sussex Defend the NHS on the subject of the Community and Voluntary Sector (Third Sector) and Health & Social Care.

Workers from St Mungo’s Broadway will explain how they won their fight against pay cuts and changes to their working conditions that the charity was imposing.

There will also be a discussion with the National Council for Independent Action and We Own it on how Third Sector organisations can avoid being a Trojan Horse for privatisation.
