As Sussex – & many other parts of the UK – come under immanent threat from extreme energy extraction*, come and see an truly inspiring film, independently made, multi-award winning story of a social movement that defied the frackers in New South Wales, Australia.
Filmed over 5 years, The Bentley Effect documents the highs and lows of the battle to keep a unique part
of Australia gasfield-free. This timely story of a community’s heroic stand shows how strategic direct action, and peaceful protesting can overcome industrial might and political short-sightedness. It celebrates
the power of non-violence and chronicles one of the fastest growing social movements we have ever witnessed.”
The film screening is organised by Frack Free Sussex and will be followed at 8.30pm by a Q&A/ discussion with the three activists taking the film on its UK tour.
