Get to know your drill, tips, tricks and bits – women’s DIY group

Thursday 7 June from 1 – 4pm

at The Vallance Community Centre, Unit 2 Conway Court, Sackville Rd, Hove BN3 3WR

Facilitator Stella Peyerl will take you through using power drills and drivers.

By the end of the session you will:
Know the difference between drills and drill drivers
know how to identify drill bits for different materials ie wood, brick, concrete and tiles
Looked at different types of screws and fixings
Had a chance to try out drilling and screwing
Done practical excersizes to improve competence
If you would like to gain confidence in using drills in a friendly, all women environment, this workshop is for you.

Bring along your drill if you have one, or there will be some available to try out in the workshop if you don’t have one. You can also bring along any other power tools if you want to learn how to use them safely and confidently.

Nail it! is a women’s DIY group which is part of Free University Brighton. The group aims to give women the confidence and skills to tackle DIY projects themselves. We have a facebook group here.

This is a free workshop but places are limited so booking is essential.
