Philosophy in Pubs
“Life is a journey, not a destination” ~ Emerson
A special event for Brighton Science Festival. Festival Director, Richard Robinson, will introduce the discussion .
When we finally set up home on Mars, won’t it be rather an anticlimax? But getting there – that’s an adventure! Is the same true back on Earth? Is the courtship more fun than the marriage? Is raising the child more fun than dealing with the grown-up? To explore the journey with other philosophers and with Richard Robinson, your destination is the Palmeira Pub.
The Palmeira Pub, Cromwell St., BN3 3ES

Philosophy in Pubs (PIP) are a group of people who enjoy discussing their ideas and thoughts and learning from each other. No academic or formal background is necessary only a passion for enquiry.
We meet on the second Sunday of each month, always at the Palmeira pub, Cromwell Road, Hove. Normally around 40 – 50 people attend. Groups consist of no more than 10 people and include a facilitator. The idea is for people to engage in dialogue without the constraints of a meeting agenda.
