Kickstarting Progressive Politics

Thursday May 18th, 7.30pm at St George’s Church, Kemptown

Come and find out why we are putting aside tribal party politics to join together to defeat the Conservatives.

This is no ordinary General Election. The outcome will have a huge effect on our city.  Defeating the Tories is vital to:

  • Save the NHS from cuts and privatisation
  • Stop grammar schools, and schools’ funding cuts
  • End growing inequality between the “haves” and “have nots”
  • Protect the environment and tackle climate change
  • Give you a say over Brexit
  • Introduce a fairer voting system

Our voting system is broken. In some areas, our votes literally don’t matter as one party is so far ahead. In others, people feel they can’t vote for what they believe in, for fear that they let in the person they most oppose.

When the “progressive” vote splits, too often the Tories get elected. Conservative MP Simon Kirby, was elected with a majority of only 690 votes. See Kirby’s voting record here.

For this election only, the Greens have made a tactical decision to avoid splitting the progressive vote in Kemptown and will not be standing in the constituency.

Locals are coming together, putting ‘tribal party politics’ aside to defeat him and his divisive policies.

Free entry, all welcome.
