Freegree Open Evening

7-9pm on Wednesday 11 July, 2018

At the Council’s Learning Centre at the City Clean Depot. Upper Hollingdean Road, Brighton. BN1 7GA (entrance gates opposite Roedale Road. The learning centre is on the right, just inside the gates)

Do you want to study to degree level but are put off by massive tuition fees? Well if you live in or near Brighton & Hove, you can have a university education for free!!

We offer degree-level courses in Social Science & Humanities, Philosophy and (as of this year) Feminism, Gender & Sexuality. The courses are part-time and take around 4 years to complete. We call them Freegrees because they are free!

The courses are fun, interactive and are designed to help us make sense of the world in which we live, enabling us to be informed and engaged citizens. Our approach to learning is much more accessible than conventional universities. You don’t need to have previous qualifications, our classes are informal, lively and supportive and we encourage everyone to contribute and share their knowledge.

Interested? Then come along to our Open Evening. You can find out more about the Freegrees, meet some of our current students and tutors, participate in some taster sessions and, if you wish to, sign up to the courses starting in September 2018.

Free University Brighton is a cooperative, run by local volunteers. We are independent from other universities and provide non-heirarchical, non-competitive education for love, not money. Our aim is to make education accessible to all and bring communities together.
