Freegree Open Day

When: 12-4pm, Saturday 15 July
Where: The Learning Centre at the City Clean Depot, Upper Hollingdean Road, Brighton BN1 7GA

This is Free University Brighton’s annual open day. It’s where you can find out more about our degree-level course – otherwise known as the ‘Freegree‘ – and sign up if you want to.

You can meet some of our tutors and current students and have a taster session to see what it’s like (see below).

Note we now do two degree-level courses – one in Social Science and Humanities and a new one in Philosophy. Both of them are completely free, externally validated and open to all. You don’t need to have A levels or any qualifications at all to join, just an open mind and a passion for learning.

No need to sign up, just come along to the open day- and feel free to bring a friend.

30 Minute Taster Sessions at 1pm and 1.30pm

Creative Strategies for Academic Writing
Do you get stuck with knowing what it is you need to write or how to get started with writing? In this short session we will start to look at different creative strategies – from free-writing to clay modelling – to help you get started and stay focused on your writing.
Introduction to Research Methods
This practical session will introduce students to research methods using materials from the EU referendum to understand why people voted the way they did.
What if I can’t make the open day?
We encourage you to come if at all possible as this is a chance for you to find out more about studying with us and to see if it’s right for you. Those who do register at the open day will be given first priority for a place. However, if there are still spaces left after the open day, we can offer them to those who email us on a first come first served basis.
