Flourish – An Introduction to Horticulture
ARE YOU LOOKING TO WORK IN THE HORTICULTURE SECTOR, OR A KEEN GARDENER ?
Plumpton College is offering this FREE, hands-on practical introduction to horticulture.
Horticulture is one of the largest employment sectors in the UK. The course will introduce you to the industry and improve your employability skills. There are 20 million gardens in Britain and we spend billions on them each year.
THE COURSE
After the 5 week course you will gain a City & Guilds 7573 Award in Practical Horticulture Skills. Examples of topics on the course include tree planting, seed sowing, pruning, soil cultivation, soil analysis, lawn care, plant identification and propagation. It runs on Thursdays (10.00-3.00), at Stanmer Park, Brighton. You can join ANY time throughout the year.
Travel/clothing/equipment bursaries usually available-details on application.
AM I ELIGIBLE?
Free to anyone unemployed, of any age, and on active benefits- eg JSA , ESA (WRAG) and Universal Credit.

Come along to an interview/advice session (11.15 any Thursday, Stanmer Park Brighton,BN1 9QA) to discuss the course, and assess it’s suitability for you before joining.

Plumpton college at Stanmer Park is located just past Stanmer House on the way to Stanmer Nurseries. Just look for the sign on the right as you go up the track.
