Young people from the Whitehawk area used the local artefacts in the Elaine Evans Archaeology Gallery as inspiration for a creative project; “It brought out creativity I didn’t know I had” said Abi.

Having visited the gallery and the Whitehawk Enclosed Causeway site they talked about the history of their area and what they like and dislike about it now.

The group made their own pottery tiles and objects creating representations of things that were important to them and were also inspired by artefacts that interested them in the archaeology gallery.

The young people also took photographs around their local area; the estate and marina, the chalk cliffs and downs.

This project was supported by Royal Pavilion & Museums’ Youth Engagement and the Trust for Developing Communities.
