Free University Brighton Module on Alternative Societies Thursdays 7-9.30pm for 5 weeks starting 4 July until 1st August. Tutor: Luke Martell.
People often criticise the way society is, but that leads to the question ‘what’s the alternative?’. This introductory module will explore alternatives to current types of society. It will look at alternatives such as communism, intentional communities and co-operatives, green society, alternative education and open borders. Are societies that are alternatives to ours desirable and viable? The aim of this module is to look at alternatives to existing ways of organising society. It’s aimed at people who don’t know much about these alternatives, so is quite introductory, but experts on these areas are welcome too!
